Train to Busan’ Sequel Reportedly in Early Planning Stages
By Eric Panico - August 13, 2018

A possible sequel to the white-knuckle zombie flick Train to Busan has reportedly begun boarding! AllKPop reports that a representative for director Yeon Sang-ho states a follow up to the undead thriller is “currently in its early planning stages.”

While the original film mostly took place on a doomed train being overrun during a viral outbreak, the next film’s focus is said to expand to the entire Korean peninsula.

“We are planning to begin filming in the first half of next year,” the source told the press. “We still have not cast any actors, so we are still preparing a lot of different things.”

They go on to state the director has no plans to bring back any of the first film’s original cast.

The visceral Train to Busan was a break-out hit in 2016, combining ferocious, fast-moving zombies, with a train ride to hell. One of the most noted aspects of the film has how it managed to add emotional impact in between the intense fight for survival. While fans may miss the original film’s characters, not bringing them back will keep the dramatic weight of the first film in tact.

Hopefully, if a sequel does come to fruition, it will put just as much emphasis on the plight of the characters as the original did. It’s good to hear Yeon Sang-ho wishes to broaden the story of the infection, instead of simply rehashing the events of the first film with a paint-by-numbers sequel. There was also talk back in 2016 for a planned US remake of the original film, though there hasn’t been much news on that in quite some time.

If you haven’t seen Train to Busan yet, do yourself a favor and check it out right away. It’s currently available on Netflix!

Are you excited for a Train to Busan sequel? Stay tuned for more news as this story develops!

The Fast & Furious crew is coming back together for another go-round, and we might now know when Fast & Furious 9 starts shooting.

It is rumored that filming will kick off on Fast & Furious 9 on April 20, 2019 (via Omega Underground), and is expected to take place in Atlanta. Justin Lin will be the director once more on Fast & Furious 9, who also helmed 2009's Fast & Furious and 2013's Fast & Furious 6, and is also rumored to help the final film in the franchise Fast & Furious 10.

Ironically an earlier tease from Vin Diesel teased a Fast & Furious 9 release date of April 19, 2019, a day before the now rumored filming start date. Now it seems that will be pushed back, and most likely so will the teased date for Fast & Furious 10, which was slated for April 2, 2021.

The franchise has been a huge performer for Universal, really kicking back into gear with 2009's Fast & Furious. Since then the franchise has grown even more, hitting its highest point with Furious 7, which brought in $353 million domestically and $1.5 billion worldwide.

The most recent film in the franchise, Fate of the Furious, also did well at the box office, bringing in $226 million domestically with a worldwide total of $1.2 billion.

It was also announced that director David Leitch, who recently helmed Deadpool 2, is now attached to direct the Fast & Furious spinoff. The spinoff will feature The Rock and Jason Statham as their characters Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw respectively.

Statham and The Rock played opposite each other in Fast and Furious 7, but they ended up on the same side in The Fate of the Furious against a rogue Dom (Vin Diesel). The duo's scenes together were a highlight of the film and there are plenty of fans who can't wait to see the two share the screen once more.

"Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game—and the rest of the crew has been exonerated—the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before.

From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world’s stage…and to bring home the man who made them a family

First paragraph

Annabelle 3 confirmed with first plot details
It's not a prequel (but it is a prequel).

Improving on Annabelle wasn't difficult, but Annabelle: Creation took the greater step of improving it, as well as improving on it. In the original, the doll belonged to a girl in a cult who killed herself holding the doll. The prequel revealed a deeper, darker backstory to the doll, one that makes the world of Annabelle that much richer.

Evil little doll Annabelle is no doubt the MVP of The Conjuring cinematic universe, and now she's getting her third solo movie, which is one more than the main Conjuring series has at this point.

As revealed at the ScareDiego event at San Diego Comic-Con, the currently untitled third Annabelle movie will be a sequel to the first spin-off movie, rather than a prequel like Annabelle: Creation

Zombieland 2 starts shooting in January, and will feature “super zombies”

Zombieland is such a great little film
The undead comedy came early in the 00s zombie revival and brought a fresh and funny spin on the genre. Instead of being set during the outbreak like a lot of zombie films, it instead takes place long after society has broken down. A pre-The Social Network Jesse Einsenberg roams the United States and runs into Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin, all of whom are far more competent at killing zombies than him, and hijinks quickly ensue.

The ending of the movie seemed perfectly set for a follow-up. A pilot was made by Amazon for TV series, but it was ultimately not picked up, and all the main roles were recast anyway.

However, back in May, we got the good news that a sequel was coming - original co-writer Paul Wernick confirmed that Zombieland 2 is on the way – with all the original cast coming back.

But now, as reported by Comic Book, it sounds like shooting will begin on the film on January 28th.

It will shoot under the very original title of Zombieland Too, and is due to be released on October 11th, 2019.

A brief plot synopsis has also been published on Geeks Worldwide, which suggest that Woody Harrelson and co will face off against "Super-zombies".

"The group will face a new zombie threat as a new breed of zombie has developed," the synopsis reads. "This new super-zombie type is faster, bigger, and stronger than the previous strain of zombies and harder to kill. These super-zombies have started grouping up into a horde going from city to city leaving a path of destruction behind them."

The film will shoot in Atlanta and Tennesse.

Woody Harrelson, Jesse Einsenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin are all due to return for the sequel, along with original director Reuben Fleischer. No word if we'll get another Bill Murray cameo, though
