Going off the trailer it does look like there may be references to earlier films. The first one and Dead Reckoning mainly.

It looks great and I'll definitely be at the cinema to watch it, though it is annoying they've gone from Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One to Mission: Impossible: The Final Reckoning, even though the previous film said 'End of Part One' before the final credits.

Rene August is producing the Popeye horror movie, with William Stead directing. Described as a ?raunchy and gory slasher,? here?s the first official plot synopsis for the film:

The legend of Popeye haunts a group of councilors as they intend to open a summer camp.

Steven Murphy plays Popeye in the upcoming horror movie, and Bloody Disgusting has been exclusively provided with a gallery of first look images of the beefed up slasher maniac.

the popeye horror film sounds like they re-made friday the 13th and replaced jason with popeye.
