I saw Alucarda once but didn't get into it at all, it is one I plan to give another chance though.
Just can't remember any atmosphere in it. Kubrick = cold fish and all that

Compared to Inferno anyhow....

Please don't laugh, but The Haunting of Molly Hartley is on the lines of Rosemary's Baby.

Its available from Amazon marketplace for the price of postage so may be worth a go. The chances are you'll hate it but i really didn't dislike it at all and will certainly watch it again at some point.

The Craft is a very good teen witchcraft thriller.

The mansion sequences are FULL of occult atmosphere, Kubrick was exposing stuff just like Polanski was, and look what happened to both of them because of that.

Just reviewed a bunch of Euro-exorcist films

Both Antichrist and Exorcismo are enjoyable but flawed in places, while L'ossessa is a rather workmanlike effort.

Requiem (2006) is a modern German take on the topic, a dark and tremendously well made drama that takes a very different approach to the material.
