The Cabin in the Woods brings my piss to a boil. The musings of an utter twat who thinks he's figured out the genre. I just tell people to watch Tucker and Dale VS Evil as it's a much funnier and cleverer twist on the formula - Tucker and Dale are only thought to be crazy hillbillies by a group of teenagers who think they have the horror genre figured out.

I have also watched Scream this month (the first time for a couple of years) and was really impressed by how well it is directed, how clever the writing is and even the dated technology, which puts a time stamp on it, doesn't diminish the viewing experience.

I'm probably one of the few people here who actually rates Cabin in the Woods and Tucker and Dale vs Evil almost equally, with the former as (like the Scream films) having something interesting to say about viewership/voyeurism and what the (typical) audience wants from a horror film.

I've not seen Tucker but I loved Cabin in the Woods and have in fact watched it twice. However, that being said I rate Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard and I'm probably a bit of a fan boy.

I also recently watched all 4 Scream films and the first and forth are both really good films and stand the test of time, the second is maybe a little too smarmy in it's knowing 'I'm a sequel' stance and the third is easily the worst in the series however saying that they are all completely watchable and I have seen them all multiple times!

People who don't own the blurays, the set of 1-3 is currently selling for less than a tenner and the 4th one is dirt cheap too.
