It was a simple design supposedly a little scary (see pic 1) by Tuesday the bloomin' thing was starting to collapse where i'd carved (see pic 2). By last night i had it's mouth propped open with matchsticks.

Last night whilst watching Trick 'r Treat i noticed a really cool looking pumpkin on fire so i paused the film and quickly drew the design and carved that face on the opposite side of my gnarled pumpkin which was as firm as you'd expect (see pic 3) and in my humble opinion looks pretty effective and simple with it. If you notice the new design has a black spot in it's right eye. That's because there's no orange backdrop for it as it's all caved in.

Anyone who watches the film tonight see if you can spot the pumpkin in question. A clue - It's almost in the center of the screen at one point.
Second pic looks a bit Kylo Ren I do love the new design in pic 3 looks cool

Heretic

A couple of Religious Girls end up in the house of Hugh Grant and after they want to leave after things start going strange, they end up in a battle of wits. This had a really good start with Grant using going back to his Rom-com roots and oozes charm and the back and forth debates was tense but it looses it's way in the final quarter.

Such a shame, the makers were on to something here.

House On The Edge Of The Park

Don't think I need to go into plot here but that scene is still uncomfortable and David Hess is excellent as the absolutely evil bad guy, he is so convincing and believable.

It's a shame that he never got a Good Guy role in a 80's Action Movie, I think he would have excelled in that as well.

Just having a cuppa and a biscuit having just watched Frankenweenie and The Ghost Train (1941)

The proper Halloween horror starts in a few minutes with Carpenter's classic and the sequel.

Goodnight and Happy Halloween to you all.

I was so broke up after Wednesday night my Halloween consisted of a mini pizza and bed at 9:30. Such an old b*stard hopefully next year I'll get back to 30 days of unseen.

Probably would of been an unhinged good guy

It would be like watching Leslie Nelson in a serious role your waiting for madness to happen

Tim Burton perfects his love of all things Gothic in Sleepy Hollow, from the misty and foreboding woods to the numerous jack o' lanterns lighting the way. The headless horseman is a classic supernatural spook and it has never been bettered before or after Burton's film. Surround sound systems positively thunder whenever the horse charges into a scene.

As good as ever, Tim Burton's brisk Gothic tale is just as fun to watch now as it was 25 years ago. One i never get bored with.

Fido (2006)

I always find Fido an absolute joy to watch, it manages to do what so many horror / comedy's fail and that is to produce a film that works on both levels to a high standard. The comedy on the whole is subtle rather than gross out gags. The script more or less follows on from the events of Romero's Night of the Living Dead, bringing us to a time when boffins have produced a collar that removes the zombie need to eat and makes them in effect servants, if a little dim witted. Fido, brilliantly played by Billy Connolly, is one such zombie who goes to live with the Robinson family and is instantly welcomed by the young son and wife ( A delightful Carrie-Anne Moss who makes me go a little weak at the knees) but not by Dad (Dylan Baker) who fears them.

What we have from then on is essentially a "boy and his dog" movie as the two bond, despite Fido eating his elderly neighbours arm thus ensuring another zombie upsurge and Moss falling for the zombie rather than her uptight husband.

Its thanks to the excellent performances from all involved, a well crafted, fifties suburban American setting and above all, an energetic, carefully written script from people who know and love the zombie horror genre ensure that Fido is a true delight for zombie fans.
Embarrassed to say I have never seen Fido.

Second time seeing this and James Ransone and Nicholas King reprise their roles from the first, I guess they couldn't figure out what to call the deputy and is listed as Ex Deputy So & So...great creative writing there, but not so great on the plot.

We get the character build up on the family and somewhat on why she left her husband, the 8mm film reels are found and the two sons watch them summoning up children that the Boogey Man has taken. It has the dark tone atmosphere from the first one and some good acting from the young boys but just seems to lack the tension and suspense from the first one.

I really hated the first film the jump scares just really annoyed me it felt like a member of slipknot got lost on tour and became trapped in someone's house

Maybe I missed something.

Psycho II. 1983.

After 22 years incarcerated, Norman Bates returns home and settles in to a new job and plans for the motel with work colleague Mary but soon mother stars making her presence known.

A decent solid sequel with Anthony Perkins returning with Vera Miles as the sister of Marion who is hell bent on Norman being released and should still be locked up. Meg Tilly plays the young not so virgin Mary but her character is written well as the story goes on we are given a curve ball and good twist ending to the Bates story. Richard Franklin went in this as he would do with a decent nod to Hitchcock and made the sequel stronger to the previous film.

That's it for this halloween viewing hope everyone had a good night last night.

It was a very busy viewing month for me, most days I managed to watch 2 films, didn't review them all because i'm not very good at that, but I have logged them and rated them all on my Letterboxd account.
