No probs mate.

They're very low budget - a hell of a lot of fun though. Some good gore effects too. I tend to be quite biased as I'm really into this genre of film though...

Great thread, I love me a bit of German gore/splatter from time to time.

Dämonenbrut is a funny little film - got to love those tentacles

I'm a big fan of Olaf Ittenbach, my favourites by him being Garden of Love and Beyond the Limits. Less fond of Andreas Schnaas but I found myself liking Nikos a fair bit.

unfortunately thats the problem very few people look past Ittenbach/Schnass/Buttgerit/Bethmann.

My favourite is Timo Rose , but how many have heard of Maik Ude, Sebastian Radtke, Jens Massmann.. you will find it's very incestous with them all popping up on various projects of the others including the famous 4.

will try to post a list of films but will need the help of BE and Peter Neal

I haven't heard of any of those, I have to admit - very interested to know what they've done though. Perhaps a bit of googling later is in order.

A list of films would be much appreciated!

Another problem for people just starting to get into German horror are the numerous varying cuts of several Ittenbach/Schnaas/Bethmann etc movies due to the strict German "youth protection" laws.

Best advice for strong German stuff: Bar a few expections (like "Tears of Kali"), skip "amazon.de" altogether and order via Austria, though not all releases are English friendly and some- strangly enough- seem to pop up exclusively in the US, like "Baricade" by Timo Rose (featuring effects by Olaf Ittenbach).

@alex: That list is a good idea, glad to help when needed.

To add a few more:

"Slasher"

"Klischee"

"Ostermontag"

More to follow when my wife doesn't want to get into the net....

How do X-Rated Kult get their stuff released when most films seem to either be banned or heavily cut in Germany? And I think Bethmann himself is based in Germany.

Great list, thanks.
Seen/own a few of those but the majority of those I've never heard of.

What's Terror Compilation vol 1 & 2 out of interest?
