Yes as far as sexual violence is concerned I don't think the film is quite up there with I Spit on Your Grave although the genital mutilation will have problems for years to come. It comes as no surprise that I did not like the film but it is an improvement on Ferox at least.

Interestingly Mark Kermode, who was so opposed to the banning of the Exorcist and the cutting of Last House on the Left supports the cutting of animal cruelty in films.

I preferred Holocaust to Ferox too though that isn't saying much.

It's a shame that Blackhorse didn't submit the uncut Holocaust or any of the former Vipco releases in uncut form. It would definitely have been interesting to see what the BBFC would make of them now and some titles (House By The Cemetery, Toolbox Murders, Night Of The Demon) would have made it intact. I'd love to see how the appalling Island Of Death would fare now too.

I've never seen this. After the lamentable Curfew I got a bit tired of the 'People terrorized in house' scenario and tended to avoid.

Haven't seen SNUFF but Tenement aka Game of Survival isn't that bad as far as extreme low budget exploitation films are concerned, it also contains some shocking scenes of violence. I preferred it to Curfew anyway even though it was made on a fraction of that films budget.

It went out with an X in the States.

It's no doubt all true! I've never seen such blatant disregard for animal life - I actually lost count of how many poor things got snuffed out for this 'documentary'.
