Also haven't seen any Friday 13th films. Only seen Halloween 1 and 3. Barely seen any Slasher films, including The Burning. Never seen an episode of Twilight Zone. Never seen a Jess Franco film. The list goes on

I have to say I've not seen a lot of cult movies having been mainstream. I had a brief dalliance with Redemption movies in the 80's or was it the 90's? But recently decided to broaden my filmic horizons! So far what I've seen I've enjoyed. Tenebrae was a complete surprise, I was hooked with the scene that craned over the building together with the music!

What sort of films do you generally watch Ant?

You have a lot of great films to come if you can get round to watching them.

Same here, except I've seen one Hammer, Plague of the Zombies

That's the thing I don't have a general sort, I'm happy to watch any film from any genre. I watch either a Blu from my 'to watch' pile (in excess of 200), whatever happens to arrive from Lovefilm (450+) or whatever happens to be on TV that I've heard is good.

I do put High Priority on Lovefilm to certain films people recommend on here.

Ill second that, Hellraiser 2 is a surreal dark film. Dr Channard is one evil........Dr! I would love a day out in Clive Barkers head! Cristopher Young's Score is great also.

I personally think Love Letters of a Portugeuse Nun is one of his best and most accessible.

Of those mentioned so far I haven't seen Child's Play (and only maybe half of Franco's films, there are just so damn many).

One of the reasons I like the Dead by Dawn festival is the mix of new and old that is shown, you can normally expect 3-4 classics (including a Hitchcock) and the audible sharp intake of breath that follows the number of hands that go up when Adele asks the question "Hands up who hasn't seen <insert name of classic that any self respecting horror fan should have seen>?" is always a funny moment.

Oh my. You really should rectify this and at least watch the Hammer films. How can anyone have lived their entire life without ever seeing a Hammer horror movie? That almost beggars belief. I charge you, sir, with putting this right!

So, just to clarify, you've never watched a single Hammer horror, ever?

I've only seen one, and that's Plague Of The Zombies.

Good movie though

If anyone's going to watch any hammer, make it Quatermass and the Pit!
