I have older brothers, so the first Alice LP I got was 'Billion Dollar Babies' in the original 'Wallet' sleeve, so *that* is the kind of era I prefer That's not to say that there have not been some fun releases since them!!

Nothing in the years since Welcome to my Nightmare in 75 have matched his output from 71-75. Trash was a huge commercial success and possibly equaled that period in terms of Alice's popularity along with follow up Hey Stoopid , but overall song quality they aren't as consistent. Whilst the likes of Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Judas Priest and arguably AC/DC among others have produced works in the 2000's as good as if not better than their so called early heydays, Alice sadly has not. Kiss are also in the Alice bracket. Don't get me wrong a handful of Alice songs in the years since are just as good as the early output, but it's songs not actual recorded albums. |

I actually personally think 2003's Eyes of Alice Cooper is a classic album. That's my favourite of the 21st century output. No one was asking but if I had to go for three favourite albums, they would be Killer, Welcome To My Nightmare and From The Inside. No doubt older fans (I'm 49) would be appalled at my top three selection.

It's a great top 3, I flip between Killer and Love it to Death as the top album, and clearly Welcome to my Nightmare is right up there as well, On the Inside is really up there too, but Billion Dollar Babies (yes, I also have the gatefold wallet LP with the billion dollar note poster, I actually have 2 of them) edges it out.

It's the first 5 albums, so you get two curios - 'Pretties For You' and 'Easy Action' - two essential releases - 'Love It To Death' and 'Killer'- and one 'polarizing-release-that-might-be-a-classic-or-might-not-be' - 'School's Out'

Wonder if the dog has any thoughts on a Christmas present for me? I do have Welcome to My Nightmare and yes it's brilliant. |

I'm definitely on the side of School's Out not being a classic album, even if it does have some great songs on it.

This is the reissued version of Killer i'd like. Here are the songs on disc 2. Disc: 2 1 Be My Lover (Live at Mar Y Sol Pop Festival, Puerto Rico, April 2, 1972) 2 You Drive Me Nervous (Live at Mar Y Sol Pop Festival, Puerto Rico, April 2, 1972) 3 Yeah, Yeah, Yeah (Live at Mar Y Sol Pop Festival, Puerto Rico, April 2, 1972) 4 I'm Eighteen (Live at Mar Y Sol Pop Festival, Puerto Rico, April 2, 1972) 5 Halo of Flies (Live at Mar Y Sol Pop Festival, Puerto Rico, April 2, 1972) 6 Is It My Body (Live at Mar Y Sol Pop Festival, Puerto Rico, April 2, 1972) 7 Dead Babies (Live at Mar Y Sol Pop Festival, Puerto Rico, April 2, 1972) 8 Killer (Live at Mar Y Sol Pop Festival, Puerto Rico, April 2, 1972) 9 Long Way to Go (Live at Mar Y Sol Pop Festival, Puerto Rico, April 2, 1972) 10 Under My Wheels (Live at Mar Y Sol Pop Festival, Puerto Rico, April 2, 1972) 11 You Drive Me Nervous (Alternate Version) 12 Under My Wheels (Alternate Version) 13 Dead Babies (Alternate Version) Although it does certainly make more sense getting the early box set Susan mentioned as it's £4 less than the reissue and you get four 'free' albums. The second box set is a no go as i have most of those already so perhaps just get Billion Dollar Babies as the new reissue and the five album set for the others. |
