I'm going to rectify that this week.

It was odd i was listening to stuff from the new Uriah Heep album - a band i should own more of - and then put on Borknagar's Up North video and thought i was still listening to Uriah Heep because they sound exactly the same.

Borknagar - Up North

True North (2019)
I've not picked up True North myself yet, but that particular song is quite the outlier on the album, the rest of them are much more like what can be found on Winter Thrice

I listened to it a lot on YT when it came out in 2019. The same with the Alcest album which came out about the same time and swore i'd get them both. And here i am four years later and still don't own either.

But i'll rectify at least one of those this week.

I struggle with Damnation. I can't tell what he's singing nothing seems to match the lyrics. No idea which songs are which as the tracklisting doesn't tally with the cd player ie player says ten songs, album cover says fifteen.

I always thought Midian was my favourite album but the most recent one Existence is Futile is every bit as good.

Existence is a great album, I've just put it on now actually

Not sure what's wrong with your copy of Damnation though, perhaps you're mixing it up with another album? it's got 17 tracks on the CD, 17 song titles on the back and the lyric book matches the vocals 100% sure of it

His vocals are unintelligible, can't tell what the hell he's saying. You can think he's at the end of the first verse and he's only screeched a line or he's three quarters of the way through the song.

Basically if i can't see what track the player says i have no idea which song is which.

Went to Cork today and found the most amazing little independent record store with one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life behind the counter. Well worth the 2 hour drive.
