It's not as bad in clubs because there is less room to manoeuvre haha, it's much worse at somewhere like Manchester Academy or Apollo where there is room to spread out.
I did go to some dicey ones in Liverpool Royal Court though, similar layout to the Apollo but about half the size, Sepultura touring Chaos AD

Funnily enough probably the wildest indoor gig i've ever been to was Ratt at the international II in Manchester.

They were supporting the Detonator album and the crowd were mental all the way through. The whole room was a mass bodies smashing into each other the whole show. F*cking Ratt.

It was crazier than Suicidal Tendencies at the same venue.

(Met and talked to both bands outside the venue afterwards. Sat on someone's car with Mike Muir drinking beer)

Gives me chills when that sample from Full Metal Jacket comes in the middle!

I was lucky enough to see Fear Factory in club gigs for Soul of a New Machine and Demanufacture
I saw them in a small club touring Obsolete with Fu Manchu it was amazing. The pit was a sight to behold when they played Cars no slaming just dancing

Darkthrone's Astral Fortress album has had some heavy rotation from me these last couple of weeks.

I think it's brilliant. not so much black metal but it has a great Sabbath sort of doomy sound which makes the fast parts seem even faster and heavier.

It's quite a technical album as well and has many shades to it's music.

So much better than the last one.

I do wonder With Darkthrone will they come full circle and release a Black Metal album but not like A Blaze or Under a Funeral Moon but more like a Bathory or Celtic Frost.

Astral Fortress isn't anything like black metal bar a few isolated breaks is it.

Much of it is barely extreme metal in a speed sense anyway... but it's still really good.

I could see them doing an album like the Nordland ones.

Be awesome if we got one with songs like Holocaust from Blood Fire and Death.

Fenriz has already done his Bathory/Celtic Frost albums, you only have to listen to the three Isengard releases

oh, and Panzerfaust
