God bless ya!

Saw them last year, they're still amazing with a gutairist down!! Roll on their third album!

I'm currently listening to:

Her Words Kill - Load My Revolver Baby
Hexes - White Noise/Black Sound

Two great London bands from past and present.

Those Iron Maiden lp covers used to scare the hell out of me as a kid:D

Nine Below Zero.

herman 9th May 2009 05:25 PM

Prompted by a post by Trench I am currently playing Ray Lovelock singing Maggie from Live Like A Cop -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APAwxK18FLk

(I remixed this one a bit in audacity so it is not quite the original but has a tiny amount of echo and I ve brought the bass up a little in the mix and am quite pleased with the results)

anyhow the full playlist is here:

vipco 10th May 2009 08:39 AM

Great stuff .

trench 10th May 2009 03:38 PM

Currently listening to Chin Chin, "The Flashing, The Fancing", which is unexpectedly fantastic.

jim corrupt 12th May 2009 08:20 PM

Rocking out to 1349 and Absu.....filthy black metal...horns up!!! \m/

Paul 12th May 2009 08:50 PM

I saw 1349 live a few years ago supporting Gorgoroth.

I won a copy of the new Heaven and Hell album on the XFM rock show a couple of weeks ago. It's rather good.:D

jim corrupt 13th May 2009 06:51 PM

if you like 1349, check out Absu's latest album, its great!

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 16th May 2009 12:20 PM

Just bought Judas Priest's British Steel album and cannot wait to get that! Also, been listening to The Scorpians and Berliner Philharmoniker's Moment Of Glory CD on Spotify - and its bloody amazing! The mix of classic with rock is so powerful and well, let's just say I luv it!

bedorca 22nd May 2009 02:06 PM

Has anyone heard the new Horrors album Primary Colours?

It is bloody awesome :D

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 22nd May 2009 09:44 PM

Just got a hold of a Readers Digest 3 CD BEST OF MORRICONE.

vincenzo 22nd May 2009 09:45 PM

Morricone is a legend. Ditto for my old mate John Barry. Essential stuff.

I'm listening to Fleet Foxes and I don't care what people think. :p

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 22nd May 2009 09:55 PM

This CD even includes tracks from Argento's films Vince.

vincenzo 22nd May 2009 10:03 PM

Four Flies On Grey Velvet is possibly the best Argento/Morricone collaboration.

spooks 22nd May 2009 10:18 PM

The 'Crime and Dissonance' Morricone compilation released by Ipecac (mike patton's record label) is awesome. Its 2 discs of Morricone's experimental/psychedelic/etc.... stuff from mainly giallo soundtracks. Not exactly an easy listen, but if you like this kinda stuff then this is highly recommended. Plus, if you play this bad boy loud you're bound to scare/confuse the hell out of any unsuspecting listeners.

Definitely Morricone = legend!

Likewise John Barry, the theme from the Ipcress File is one of my all time favourite pieces of music.

vincenzo 22nd May 2009 10:31 PM

The Knack is possibly my fave Barry score, though it's a tough old choice. If you like Ipcress File check out his equally excellent Quiller Memorandum score.

Even in some of the lousiest films (King Kong, Alice's Adventures In Wonderland, Boom) JB's magic shines through.

spooks 22nd May 2009 10:34 PM

Not heard Quiller Memorandum, will check it out!

Make Them Die Slowly 31st May 2009 09:10 PM

Presently blasting out Sympathy Sessions by Oblivians and will be following it up with a bit of The Sonics. It's garage punk Sunday in our house.

vipco 31st May 2009 11:50 PM

Nine Below Zero's Legends. Did I ever mention them before.?

Make Them Die Slowly 31st May 2009 11:57 PM

I saw Nine Below Zero way back, seem to remember they were pretty good.

vipco 1st June 2009 12:25 AM

Pretty good, pretty good , Brilliant more like , their Legends, ! only messing, they're my most seen band live. I catch em at least once , twice a year , for years now.

Yeah, I first saw them way back too and am looking forward to catching them again August/September.

Where'd you see them mate.?

Make Them Die Slowly 1st June 2009 12:38 AM

Vipco
I saw them in London, must have been in the 80s at some time.I saw that many gigs in the 80s and 90s it is hard to remember them all.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 1st June 2009 06:16 PM

Go to youtube and type in Stelvio Cipriani La polizia chiede aiuto for a glorious treat.....;)

TALL DUDE 1st June 2009 07:23 PM

Got the new buckcherry cd today, black butterfly...awesome.

A great mix of out and out rockers and some pretty cool ballads.Josh todd is a very underrated singer, although quite a few of the songs have there fair share of expletives(too drunk...to ****,being one in question:D)

KPWNINJA 1st June 2009 07:46 PM

Listening to Saxon at the moment! Great band!!! :p

Make Them Die Slowly 2nd June 2009 12:24 AM

I'm going with Miles Davies,"On the Corner" tonight.

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 8th June 2009 09:58 AM

How was it Slowly?

I know there are quite a few War Of The Worlds (Jeff Wayne's) fans on here, so I was wondering whether anyone's going to see the tour this summer. I managed to get tickets last night for the 02 - I should've booked earlier tho - I'm in a seat that isn't advised for those with a fear of heights

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!! WAHHH!

vipco 8th June 2009 11:25 AM

At least you'll get a good view of the UFO's up there. LOL

Gold6082 8th June 2009 03:17 PM

I have just been updating my WE7 playlists & updating my Mp3.

I am 26 years old but very retro with my tastes as well as modern.

I love Lady Gaga At the Mo

But I couldn't Resist abit of R.E.M,Roxette,Heart,Kiss & Bachman Turner overdrive amongst others.

If that sounds an odd Mix I have jamiroquai,Kelly Clarkson,Nik Kershaw,Randy Crawford & Motorhead thrown in too, with a splash of Rolling stones and a hint of Beatles with a garnish of Roxy Music

Make Them Die Slowly 8th June 2009 10:17 PM

Tonight I'm going with "God Bless Tiny Tim" by Tiny Tim,Black Flag "Live'84" and"Free Jazz" by Ornette Coleman.

vipco 8th June 2009 11:36 PM

Tiny Tim is a freak with a really high pitched voice who plays the ukulele. He was at his height in the 1960s.Black Flag were an American hardcore punk band.Henry Rollins who stars a genre films nowadays was their singer for a fair bit.Ornette Coleman's "Free Jazz was a complete mind**** when it came out in 1961.It's improvised jazz which is either noise or genius depending on your tastes.
