September 20th, 1977 - the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash, resulting in the deaths of vocalist Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist/vocalist Steve Gaines, backing singer Cassie Gaines (Steve's older sister), assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick, pilot Walter McCreary, and co-pilot William Gray. Other members of the band (Allen Collins, Gary Rossington, Leon Wilkeson, Billy Powell, Artimus Pyle and Leslie Hawkins), tour manager Ron Eckerman, and several members of the road crew suffered serious injuries

I'm listening to the #ThrowbackThursday playlist on Spotify, which has some Britpop gems.

I love Slight Return! I'm going to listen to Bluetones in my headphones now.

I also listened to Jamiroquai's High Times: Singles 1992-2006 twice today. Some cracking songs on that album.

I've been listening to Lady Gaga's new album, Joanne today, I have to say I really like it, there are a lot more real instruments this time around, specifically guitars and a lot less in the way of dance floor hits. It reminded me a bit of what Fleetwood Mac would sound like in 2016.

I also listened to Agnes Obel's new album Citizen of Glass which if you're a fan you'd know what to expect, if you're not aware of who she is - think Danish singer/songwriter in a delicate piano fashion but also a bit sinister and quirky - not a Tori Amos clone...

See example below from her last album; I'm not familiar enough with her new album yet to suggest one from there apart from a track called Familiar which isn't recommended if you don't know her style! However it's one of her best songs - ironic
