My personal favs being -

T.Rex - Solid Gold Easy Action,
Geordie - All Because Of You
Uriah Heep - Easy Livin'
Free - Wishing Well
Foriegner - Cold As Ice
and there's even a Canned Heat song, Vips - Long Way From L.A!

Mott have reformed I do believe.
T.Rex are one of Mrs Make Them Die Slowlys favourites, have you heard any of the weird beard acid folk Bolan did before he found glitter and electric guitar.Well worth checking out.

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 26th June 2009 07:33 PM

Well, I know (and luv) some of his other songs like 20th Century Boys and Children Of The Revolution, but it looks like I'm gonna have to start listening to some more! :p

Make Them Die Slowly 26th June 2009 08:33 PM

The early Tyrannosaurus Rex recordings are superb. The Seal Of Seasons and One Inch Rock have always been faves of mine.

Have you tried Comus? They gigged with Tyrannosaurus Rex in the early days. They did two lps that have been reissued on one cd and sound like a wonky, frightening, acid fried folk type thing.

Vipco,Johns Children are greatly underrated in my opinion, how could you not like a band where the guitarist used to chain whip his guitar.

vincenzo 27th June 2009 09:46 PM

I have Comus's First Utterance album on vinyl somewhere (on the old Dawn label). Been a while since I've heard it so I'll have to dig it out again.

John's Children's Desdemona is a classic. Andy Ellison also sang the gorgeous It's Been A Long Time in Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush.

"Mulberry Bush" was filmed in my home town of Stevenage.I'm sure I read somewhere that the BFI are to release it on dvd in the future.

vincenzo 28th June 2009 11:05 AM

Mulberry Bush is one of my all-time favourite 60's films. I've only got it on video at the moment (the cut BBC print and the uncut C4 showing) and a DVD release is long overdue.

The soundtrack is gorgeous. As is Judy Geeson.

It was my daughter's 4th birthday at the weekend and apparently the soundtrack to "Cannibal Holocaust" is not good music for playing pass the parcel to, according to Mrs Make Them Die Slowly.

Presently playing "The Double Deckers" soundtrack.

All together now...get on board, get on board..
