I have 'Now Diabolical' by Satyricon but aside from that haven't heard much of their stuff. Might check it out. I'm not massively into Black Metal but I dabble now and again, I loved 1349's 'Hellfire' album and Burzum's self titled is a classic.

1349 are amazing man!
im a big fan (as you can see by my avatar)
satyricon are an interesting band man, theyve delved into punk sounds a lot too, especially on 'volcano' - i reccommend that album highly

Unfortunately Hellfire's the only album I own by 1349. I've been meaning to check out more of their stuff for ages, it's an incredible album. One of the most extreme black metal albums I've ever heard.
Personally I've always been more into death metal, grindcore, hardcore and metalcore. You into any of them Jim? Black metal's not a genre I'm particularly well versed in as some of the stuff I've heard I haven't been too keen on.

Volcano really does sound great from what I've heard about it, that's another one I need to get round to checking out at some point. Cheers for the recommendation mate.

Never really been into punk but I do like some of the more thrash influenced hardcore punk. Driller Killer are great (although argueably more thrash than punk ), I bought the Total ****ing Brutalized digi pack a few years back and still listen to it a great deal. Really like Heresy and Discharge aswell.

two amazing, underrated bands, both sadly defunct.

If you want proper metal then I'd recommend NINE BELOW ZERO... they're ACE! You wanna talk mosh pits? Well you ain't felt nothing until you've entered the knee-slapping pit, boy, do my knees take some punishment whenever I enter there! in film talking terms we refer to NBZ as "Kneesploitation".

Oh and while I'm at it, am I the only one who's interested in Guns N' Roses' new album???

You're not a GnR fan, Jim?
