I've never been a big fan, but I saw them at Glastonbury in 2003 and they were better than I expected.

Anyway, on with the music. recently picked up the Japanese 12" of Statement by Boris, and found this beauty on the b-side. they've played it live the last 4 times I've seen them, but now I own it!

As I've noticed there's one genre of music that doesn't get a look in on here thought I'd recommend my favorite Classical works.

Stravinsky- THE RITE OF SPRING, THE FIREBIRD or PETRUSHKA

Mahler- SYMPHONIES 1 or 8

Carl Orff- CARMINA BURANA(instantly recognizable)

Allegri- MISERERE MEI

Wagner- PARSIFAL(prelude) how an evil anti-semite like him could write something like that is beyond me.

or virtually any GREGORIAN CHANTING.

Good idea....

Does it have to be 19th century ? Otherwise, I'm leaning towards the modern-classical end of things...

Arvo Pärt - Tabula Rasa
Stockhausen - Elektronische Musik 1952-1960
John Cage - In a Landscape

Years ago BBC radio 3 did a live Stockhausen session that was f**king amazing, god knows how many musicians were involved, but on the whole there's so much variety that the older stuff just grabs my attention in a way that modern works don't.

S'funny I've been listening to La Monte Young during my commute to work over the last few days.

In a rush at the moment, but I'll definitely pop back later with some more classical stuff, unsurprisingly it's the modern stuff that I prefer
