There are a lot worse bands floating about out there than Dr. Hook. Are you in love with a beautiful woman by any chance? I'm here all week BTW(horribly killing jokes).

Picked up the first four Neil Young albums in a box set for £8 from Asda, so I've been listening to them all week. Also got the limited edition vinyl set of Live on Ten Legs by Pearl Jam, so that's had a couple of spins too.

Don't get me wrong, I still love the first four albums, but listening to the rest is like watching a film with your favourite star and realising that they are over the hill and aren't fit to go straight to video (or dvd, i guess it is these days).
I know Metallica (The Black Album) marked a turning point for the band and see what you mean, but I saw them on the Death Magnetic tour and thought they were absolutely stunning – a band who know exactly how to please the fans, get the crowd involved and put together a great set list.

I have DVDs of their earlier gigs/concerts from the Live Shit: Binge & Purge set and, while some of them are very raw, with nothing but thrash metal, every band will evolve and become a much better stage presence the more they perform live. That said, I would have loved to see them on the Master of Puppets tour as that's the first album of theirs I bought and one which is still my favourite..

I've got the Neil Young set, it's much better than I expected knowing little about him.

Been immersing myself in All About Eve's brilliant 37 track Keepsakes collection and 21 track dvd.

A superior band i dismissed at the time.

Julianne Regan's stunning voice clearly influenced the likes of Within Temptation and Leaves' Eyes.
