New version is vastly inferior imo. I played the vynal of the origional to death as a kid. Loved the Sleeve art.

Artwork so good it deserves to be called out twice... For what it's worth I liked the Spielberg War of the Worlds quite a bit, it's become one of those films that I always catch 30mins of on TV...

Actually the only snippet of the music I've heard is on one of those Stars on 45 7" mixes that was around the house when I was a kid, and the mix ends with a powerful blast of Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds, which comes in after a not unpleasant segue way from Bette Davis Eyes (around the 4:30 mark). Hand claps aside, I'm assuming this is the original music ?
