In an example of 'Separating the art from the artist', I prefer to remember him as he was - creator of some of the most enjoyable music from the glam rock era

Speaking of which, I was in a cafe t'other weekend, we go there every week, they do a themed playlist each week, this particular week was 70's glam rock. Gary came on, and the guy and his mum on the next table started giving each other unbelieving looks. He then get's up goes over to the counter and says 'you do realise you're playing Gary Glitter?' to which the girl at the counter was like, yeah, it's a playlist. He insisted that it was inappropriate and she should perhaps turn it off. She didn't and he sat down, but I couldn't believe the reaction of this person, he was only in his 20's as well. It was weird.
Maybe we need to have a trigger warning before songs now

I'd have been the same, not because of what Gary Glitter did, but because his music is ear bleedingly awful

I'm not a fan myself, I never have been even before the allegations, but I would never react that way! Some people are too touchy.

Related to the thread... I'm going to HMV on the way home and see if they have the fancy version of the new Nick Cave and Bad Seeds compilation, 45 tracks on 3 cds and 40 plus songs and clips on a DVD. I hope they have it, it's out of stock on the website.
