Go on and worship him as your metal god, I don't care. But please don't start again with your imbecile attempts at "comparing" the "evilness" of people. Last time it was Rik, this time it's Hawkmonger. You just don't get it.

As I said, this is sad, and it may be a sadder day for guitar players like you, but...and that's just a little but for quite a few people here... after Thatcher's death, you all treated her in a totally indecent way. Now, you mourn Slayer's Jeff Hanneman in a way that one tends to think he was not only a good guitar player, but also a very fine human being.

I'm not the judge. I didn't know Hanneman personally (neither did anyone of you, I suppose), but looking back at his life, he most certainly was a disputable person with a strange interpretation of history.

Just my two cents.
How was he disputable Prince.?

His grandparents were German, his father fought in Normandy, and his brothers in Vietnam and he has a keen interest in the second world war.

Because he wrote Angel of Death about the atrocities of Nazi death camps then you think this makes him not a good person.

There's absolutely nothing in his biography that suggests he was anything but.

Cyber conversion? No, that would make him less prone to manstration imbalance...

Incidently Angel of Death is my fave Slayers opening track. Prince has just given me a reason to listen to Reign of Blood again.

so a guy writes a song that depicts 'a view' (not necessarily his view) of a period in history, and for that he is to be damned for all eternity as a disputable person?

I'll paraphrase Jeff himself... 'I shouldn't have to tell you that Mengele was a bad man, because well... isn't that obvious?'

I get that Slayer isn't everyone's cup of tea, but surely you must realise that their level of influence stretches beyond 'a few of us that play guitar'?

I wonder if the death of an exploitation film director would attract the same contempt...?

Alice Cooper sings about 'Dead Babies'

Doesn't mean he condones child murder

I was left speechless by the death of Jeff Hanneman from Slayer. I'm not a metalhead by any means, but Jeff really opened up the way. I'm not a metalhead, but my sadness is sincere. A genuine loss to music.
