If it is i strongly recommend Rhapsody (Later Rhapsody of Fire) who are basically the Godfathers of this sort of thing and Sonata Arctica (Seen a few of theirs on MM recently at bargain prices)

It is yes, I've only heard a couple of songs from a few bands such as the very epic Valhalla from Blind Guardian, though that's less symphony and more power but that live at Wacken version is intense

This is something new to me.

The only instrument is a drum kit. This lot sing all the guitar parts except the main solo. You'll probably recognise one of the singers.
