I'm absolutely loving Genexus. The latest album from Fear Factory.

I'd no idea they were a two piece now consisting solely of Burton and Dino.

The drums are from Dean Castronovo of AOR legends Journey. He must have fancied some blast beats for a change.

It's several years since i bought a new Fear Factory album and whilst this isn't wildly different to classics like Demanufacture it does feel really fresh to my ears. Possibly because the use of keys and melody is quite prominent as well as the usual mayhem. The digipack i have has two extra tracks. One called Mandatory Sacrifice which features and is produced by Al Jourgensen.

Very much so, he's the producer and according to the booklet - manipulation, keyboards on Dielectric, Soul Hacker, Genexus, Regenerate, Battle For Utopia, Expiration Date, programming, vocal recording.

Having listened to the Jourgensen track again it's actually a remix of the albums title track but it quite different, so much so that i didn't notice the first two playbacks.

Now the digi is down to £5.99 at HMV it's one that's worth picking up when you need an add on item to pass the free postage tenner level.
