I've booked tickets to see Biffy Clyro at the Newcastle Arena in December. I've seen them before, so hope they are as good as previous performances; the fact that Ellipsis is such a good album should help.

I have tickets to see Biffy Clyro at the Newcastle Arena this Friday, December 2nd. Unfortunately, my brother, who was hoping to go, is unwell so I have a spare ticket. I wondered if there was anyone here who wanted to go and could meet the outside the venue, going in with me (that's part of the rules about the tickets – everyone has to go in with the 'lead booker' who has to produce photo ID).

I saw Biffy Clyro last night – I fortunately found a friend who hasn't seen them before but wanted to go anyway – and had a great time. They played for about 130 minutes, with only a brief pause between the main set and the encore, rocketing through 27 songs in the process. It was a performance with astonishing energy and, although most of the set list came from Ellipsis (10), Opposites (6), and Only Revolutions (5), with four songs from Puzzle and one apiece from Infinity Land and Blackened Sky, there was a great variety of styles and years. Predictably enough, they kicked off with Wolves of Winter, a great way to begin the concert, but then turned it down a couple of times, with Simon playing Medicine and later Machines acoustically or by himself, with James and Ben appearing at the front to harmonise! If you have tickets for any of the remaining concerts in Manchester, Leeds, Cardiff, Birmingham or London, you are in for a treat. If not, and there are some available, I highly recommend you try to buy one. I'll try and put some photos up a bit later.
