A mysterious addition to the Pyramid lineup goes by the artist name the ChurnUps, who have no online footprint and are presumably a starry secret act. Glastonbury organisers were tight-lipped about their identity, but whoever they are, they have a very high profile placing, sandwiched between Royal Blood and Texas in the much-coveted sunset slot on Friday evening.

Queens of the Stone Age will headline the Other stage on Sunday night with Dermot Kennedy, Krept & Konan, Japanese Breakfast, the Lightning Seeds, the Hives, Ben Howard, the Unthanks, the Lathums, the Teskey Brothers and the Joy the other newly announced names for Glastonbury’s second-biggest stage. The supergroup Generation Sex, featuring Billy Idol and Tony James of Generation X, with Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones and drummer Paul Cook, will also play, on Saturday afternoon."

The full line-up can be found:

Dave Grohl in a letter to fans seeing the band live has used the phrase "Churning up emotions"

There's an unknown band called The Churnups third on the bill of day one of Glastonbury.

You don't get to be third on the bill on the main stage at that festival if nobodies ever heard of you.

Royal Blood should be able to follow up after FF but they'll have a hard job

Were it Foo Fighters they'd be headlining a day.

They obviously wanted a surprise gig.

To be honest i don't think either Royal Blood or Arctic Monkeys will be able to top Times Like These and Best of You.

Maybe Foo Fighters didn't want to headline and play a full set, just a smaller low-key one with their new drummer to get the feel of performing in front of an adoring crowd before touring again.

If it is them, it seems weird that they would be so low down on the 'pecking order' otherwise.

They are already touring with new member Josh Freese. It was an open letter after the dates had finished that the hint arose.

I didn't know they were touring. I've seen Foo Fighters in concert once or twice and thought they were brilliant, so I'll keep out for dates in the UK.

Pulp who have reformed are another candidate to play as The Churnups.

According to the latest Popbitch, Metallica's latest tour is taking the phrase 'heavy metal' literally:
