The Phantom Menace (1999) - Duel of the Fates John Williams could absolutely rule this thread! |

Michael Nyman - The Heart Asks Pleasure First / The Promise The Piano: Music From The Motion Picture (1993) Heard this for the first time today in the car. I absolutely love it. I had to pull over to listen to it properly. I've never seen The Piano but this beautiful theme makes me want to. There are cues that almost certainly influenced John Lunn and his Downton Abbey theme music. The cd i was listening to was a freebie from Total Film magazine from 2001. What a track listing - The Italian Job: Getta Bloomin' Move On Batman: Main Theme Casablanca: Suite Get Carter: Carter Takes A Train From Russia With Love: Main Theme The Exorcist: Tubular Bells Jurassic Park: Suite The Magnificent Seven: Suite The Piano: Main Theme....and many more. |

I love The Piano soundtrack I bought the CD right after I watched the film back on release. Beautiful music I highly recommend you get the CD. But also watch the film it’s really good.

Craig Armstrong - Ball Plunkett And Macleane OST (1999) Armstrong's soundtrack is better than the film itself even if it's modern techno beats are severely at odds with the historical adventure on the screen. The track Ball has stayed with me since it first pummeled me in the cinema. |

It's been many years since I have seen Plunkett & Macleane, a film I wanted to rewatch after I watched the similarly themed Burke & Hare (1972), but haven't yet looked to stream or buy it.

Burke and Hare is about a pair of Edinburgh grave robbers whilst Plunkett and Macleane are highwaymen in London. |
