Great releases. Just wish they'd come out in the UK the same time as US

Some great titles coming out.
I already have Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde and totally recommend that as an upgrade.
I have the Archive DVD of Beast With Five Fingers so I may wait on that one.
The Walking Dead is a sure upgrade. The Karloff/Lugosi box set that this film is on suffers from disc rot. I went to watch the movie a while back and it was unplayable, kept skipping. I sourced a cheap DVDr of the movie to be going on with. No idea if the other films on the set are affected but they most probably will be at some time as with these discs, one day they are okay.. the next they don't play.
Also with The Return Of Dr X. Best to upgrade as you just don't know with these Warner DVD sets.

Supposedly it was a dodgy pressing plant that cheaply produced millions of these discs that become unplayable.

It hasn't happened to me yet, but I wonder if they will swap the faulty disc. Did anyone ever ask them?

There are no replacement programmes for discs that wont play anymore. It's something that happens to a disc over time.
Unfortunately its just our hard luck.
Warner US release titles seem to be the most affected but US Anchor Bay releases such as Frankenstein Created Woman were affected.
It does seem that it is only the US made titles of Warner that are affected? I have not heard of a UK disc rot plague.
Thing is, most of the time it's something you can't see. Rot is usually seen by a coffee like stain on the disc or discolouration but a lot of the titles that are affected look normal. They just won't play anymore because of freezing or skipping. One day the disc plays fine, the next won't play.

Warner sets with problems that have affected myself recently and others are..
THE VAL LEWTON HORROR COLLECTION
THE KARLOFF/ LUGOSI HORROR CLASSICS

Luckily Warner Archive and others are releasing Blu rays to replace films in these sets. It's not good to have to do it but..

Just having a look at the threads on CHFB or videos on youtube of the many titles affected is very sad as probably some titles will not have an alternative release to be able to replace it.
