Just noticed when I removed the slipcase...WTF is with the Blue case?

The rest of the Italian collection is in clear cases....

Seems the supplier they use has a problem getting clear 2-disc cases. Delerium is in a blue case as well.

Plus, I noticed They're using the other (not as good) red cases for the Slasher collection again.

Glad I'm only buying the titles I want and aren't bothered about having missing numbers because that would bug the shit outta me!

Be interesting to see if this is still news when it isn't April 1st!

"#weekendannouncement01

88 Films is proud to announce the partnership of the century as we unleash a #f**kitlist that we know you will all lust over. That's right 88 Films has agreed to enter into a partnership with the thrilling American label Code Red Entertainment to exclusively distribute their material across the British isles. The first joint release in the new 88-Red Label will be one of your most anticipated requests - 1982's classic video nasty THE SLAYER, restored in HD from the hard work that this partnership has already produced. The release will be accompanied by an exclusive audio commentary featuring Bill Olsen of Code Red and 88.

Comments 88: "We have always been huge admirers of Code Red and we were thrilled to reach out to this awesome label and gain nothing but goodwill, friendship and harmony. What a lovely situation this has blossomed into."

Meanwhile Olsen maintains: "Those cheeky chaps at 88 Films are a laugh riot. They sometimes dare me to drink that one more glass of Prosecco even when it is clear I can't take anymore. I'm telling you - I can't take another wild night out with them... these guys really know how to hold their liquor and get the girls.""

And something which is probably a bit more believable!

"#weekendannouncement2

JUST BEFORE DAWN
Beloved cult filmmaker Jeff Lieberman already horrified audiences across the world with his killer-worm epic SQUIRM (1976) but he arguably outdid himself with JUST BEFORE DAWN (1981) one of the most popular slasher classics to ever tear up the inside of a grindhouse movie theatre. In this powerful bout of plasma splashing cinema, a group of teenage vacationers opt for an ill-advised hike around the beautiful national forests of Oregon. But Lieberman is quick to show that backwoods baddies do not just exist in the American South - they can also be found preying on campers in the supposedly more liberal (and safe) West Coast too!! With machete massacres galore, masked maniacs on the prowl and plenty of skinny dipping and flesh ripping to enjoy, JUST BEFORE DAWN is a horror masterpiece that is finally available in the UK, fully remastered in HD. Starring George Kennedy (THE NAKED GUN) and Chris Lemmon (WISHMASTER), 88 Films is proud to present one of the most sublime and stylish slice and dice creepers ever concocted!"

sort of pissed the slayer is an april fools. Its the sort of title their slasher line actually needs!!! Certainly more so than return to horror high. As for just before dawn, if they can get the unrated version in HD they would certainly one up Code red. If not then no sale.

Code Red's unrated is HD, it's just from a faded beaten up print that he's put 0 effort in colour grading or restoring.

It's not even that hard, I had a crack at restoring the Just Before Dawn longer cut, got 10 minutes into the film before University took over all my spare time...

I've asked 88. Don't know if i'll get an answer. They appear to have licensed it rather than using code reds so there is hope.

Either way, I'll still preorder it from them the second it's available as anything would be better than the 13gb transfer on the Code Red disc which has been strangled by compression
