Ha ha! Oh dear. Who designed that 4K American Pie slip case?
Must have taken all of 0.5 seconds to design that piece of c**p!

It looks like something that Universal would use on their own releases, I wonder if it was a contractual stipulation.

I understand these covers have been designed using AI. I'm always a bit dubious about artwork that's not traditional painting (i.e. photoshop mock-ups), but I have to say I do like these quite a lot. The slightly textured slipcases that 88 are using for these are also a plus. Makes them feel more organic somehow...

Don't know if they are using AI but each image on the art work is taken from the film. Much like the Doctor Who dvd releases.

yes, it looks like they have taken some of the best stills from the films and then reworked the image to look like it was painted - I guess thats the AI bit.

I like the way the images have been composed too with lots of stuff packed in to give you a good sense of the movie content rather than a few limited floating heads.

Are the Dr. Who covers by the same company?

No they are by a guy called Lee Binding. Like you i like the way the artworks are composed. Subtlety different from simply throwing together a load of floating heads.

This artwork for The Time Monster dvd is a great example.
