i don't think 88films have released it on DVD or blu-ray the only release i could find was the enterainment in video's video release on amazon so i think this is the first time its had a physical release in the UK since the late 90s' Creepozoids was released by 88films.

Synopsis:

"From cult director Richard Elfman (THE FORBIDDEN ZONE) and producer Charles Band comes SHRUNKEN HEADS, a legendary comedy horror head-trip remastered from the original 35mm camera negative!

When three inner city kids are murdered in a gangland showdown gone wrong, a mysterious witch doctor opts to drag them back from the grave. Well, most of them anyway! The voodoo priest leaves the boys' bodies and only reanimates their heads. Now, this trio of floating craniums is left to fly around New York with only one thing on their minds: revenge!

Elfman fills the screen with his patented blend of absurdity, Grand Guignol effects, dark humour and surreal insanity and gives the beautiful Meg Foster (THEY LIVE, LORDS OF SALEM) one of her wildest roles, that of lesbian crime kingpin Big Moe. Powered by original music from Elfman's brother, the award-winning composer Danny Elfman (BATMAN, THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, BEETLEJUICE), a delirious score by the great Richard Band (RE-ANIMATOR, PUPPET MASTER) and slick cinematography by Stephen McNutt (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, THE DEAD ZONE), SHRUNKEN HEADS is one of the weirdest titles from the Full Moon archives.

"101 Films presents 80s sci-fi classic Trancers (1984), on 4K UHD in the UK for the first time. In a decade packed with classic sci-fi, Trancers stands out as an underseen gem. Part tech noir thriller part zombie hunt with a healthy dose of comedy and a killer synth score, this is cult 80s cinema at its best.

Welcome to Angel City, 2247. Trooper Jack Deth (Tim Thomerson, Near Dark) is wiping out the last disciples of Whistler, who used his psychic power to 'trance' those with inferior minds, forcing them to follow his every desire. Though he'd been thought dead, he's very much alive ... in the year 1985. Whistler's master plan - kill the ancestors of the city council. With the council disbanded, nothing can stop him from controlling the city. And that's where Deth comes in. Jack is sent back in time, inhabiting the body of his ancestor. Just one problem: Whistler's ancestor is a police detective, and he?s been trancing people in 1985. With the help of a strong-willed punk, Lena (Academy Award winner Helen Hunt) Deth must confront Whistler one final time, while the fate of time itself hangs in the balance!"

Special Features
  • Dancing with Trancers' - Interview with director Charles Band
  • 'A Living Daydream' - Interview with Chris Alexander
  • 'It's All a Daze' - Interview with Ted Nicolaou
  • Limited edition booklet
  • Commentary with director Charles Band and Tim Thomerson
  • Trancers: City of Lost Angels - Short film
  • Trancers - Video essay
  • Making of featurette
  • Trailer
  • Interviews
  • Still gallery
The release date has been pushed back to April 21. I don't mind this because I'm not in a rush for it and would rather they took their time and not release a problematic disc.

I've got the 88. It's not a great transfer but I wasn't sure if that it was just indicative of how it was shot?

If 101 do a better job I might double dip as I quite like it.

I think 88 Films disc was a direct port of the Full Moon one, I can't imagine that the 101 is any kind of remaster, will probably be the same.

I've had and sold it twice and will probably buy this one again

Castle Freak (1995) (Limited Edition) (Blu-ray)
GPP16.99 GBP

Release 26th May 2025 Pre-order now!

Title number 043 on our Black Label

101 Films presents gothic horror Castle Freak (1995) on Blu-ray. Directed by the late Stuart Gordon, this chilling tale is one of his many films inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Best known for his distinctive contributions to cult horror and sci-fi throughout the '80s and '90s - with genre classics such as Re-Animator, From Beyond, and Dolls ? Gordon returned to familiar territory with Castle Freak, a lesser-known gem that reunited him with frequent collaborator and producer Charles Band.

John Reilly, (Jeffrey Combs - Re-Animator), his wife Susan (Barbara Crampton - Re Animator, The Young and the Restless) and their daughter come face to face with terror when they travel to Italy to move into a castle they have inherited. Unbeknownst to them, their new home harbours a grotesquely disfigured and tortured man who has been imprisoned for decades. When mutilated bodies start turning up, John must uncover the Reilly family's dark secret to save his wife and child from the sadistic being.
