I haven't seen the Synergy print as yet. The Optimum release is 100% confirmed as uncut by the BBFC, so you can't go wrong with that one.

What ratio is the Optimum release? I have seen The Exterminator in 1.85:1 and think it's a bit too much - seems to cut it fine top and bottom. But I think I recall that the unmatted version reveals the odd boom or mic shadows.

I think an unmatted version then zoom in on the TV might be the way to go. Is the Optimum fullscreen or widescreen?

I've just picked up a copy of the Synergy version for £1.99. I'll do a comparison with my Optimum release when it arrives. Have to say I'm quite tempted to purchase the Thai release. Love the cover & it's supposed to be in a slipcase! Not sure of the cut status though.

Also, is there any chance someone will release a quality version of The Exterminator 2 in the near future?

That would be great. The two scenes to compare closely are the decapitation (possibly trimmed by 1-3 seconds) and the soldering iron torture scene. The BBFC list the cuts as 22 secs though they may not have been made at all.

Exterminator II is long overdue a UK release. Heavily cut (from the already cut R-rated print) for cinema/video but would fly through without problems now.

From what I remember Synergy 'acidentally' released the full uncut version to start with.I used to own it-Can't be sure though.

I traded the Synergy one with Vipco-is it uncut Vips?

I only have the uncut Optimum and the old heavily cut Braveworld video (for comparison purposes). The cuts to the latter were quite hilarious. It almost qualifies as a 15.
