Neat article, I am always disappointed I was not collecting back in the VHS days (although seeing the frustration at hard found DVD titles now appearing on Blu-Ray [or youtube ] once is more than enough).

Is there a list somewhere of those titles where the Vipco release is still their only 'official' release?

Vipco released a great many films and, inevitably for a UK company specialising in Horror and Exploitation films, a good few were cut.

Here is a list of all their cut releases from 1992 up until they closed shop in 2007.

1992:
THE BEYOND - Cut cinema version (passed uncut in 2001)
BLOOD RAGE - (Unconfirmed) No BBFC cuts but I have heard rumours that this was cut.
THE BOGEYMAN (aka The Boogeyman) - 44 seconds cut by the BBFC. (all cuts were waived in 2000)
THE BURNING - pre cut but BBFC still removed a further 9 seconds (Passed uncut in 2002)
CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD - same as 1988 Elephant Video release (passed uncut in 2001)
DEATH TRAP (aka Eaten Alive) - 25 seconds cut by the BBFC (passed uncut in 2000)
DEATH WARMED UP - same cut print released by Medusa back in the 80's
EATEN ALIVE - Heavily cut cinema version which was missing 5mins 44 seconds.
PSYCHIC KILLER - No BBFC cuts but 8 seconds pre-cut to remove 'blood on breasts' - a real no-no at the time. (Released uncut in 2000)
SHOGUN ASSASSIN - Cut cinema version (passed uncut in 1999)
THE SLAYER - 14 seconds cut by BBFC (passed uncut in 2001)
ZOMBIE FLESH EATERS - Cut UK cinema verison (passed uncut in 2005)

1993
BLOOD CAMP THATCHER (aka Turkey Shoot) - 5mins 42 secs removed by BBFC (Passed uncut in 2003)
BLOODY MOON - 1min 20s removed by BBFC (Passed uncut in 2008)
GRAVE OF THE VAMPIRE - Cut UK cinema version
THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY - Same as heavily cut Elephant Video release with additional cuts by Vipco. (Passed uncut in 2009)
HUMAN EXPERIMENTS (aka Strange Behaviour) - 26 seconds removed by BBFC
MIDNIGHT - No BBFC cuts but print submitted was already cut (Released uncut in 2011)
THE MUTILATOR - 26 seconds removed by BBFC
SEWAGE BABY - 2 seconds removed by BBFC
TERROR EYES - 9 seconds removed by BBFC
TORSO - 50 seconds removed by BBFC (Passed uncut in 2007)
ZOMBIE NOSH (aka Flesh Eaters) 1min 41 secs removed by BBFC (Passed uncut in 2003)

1994
NIGHT OF THE DEMON - 1min 41secs removed by BBFC
ZOMBIE FLESH EATERS (Widescreen re-issue) - Cut cinema version

1999
ZOMBIE FLESH EATERS - over a minute of previous cuts waived but still missing 27 seconds due to recent successful prosecution of uncut version

2000
THE BURNING - Same as 1992 VHS release
CANNIBAL FEROX - 6 seconds removed by BBFC in addition to the 6 mins pre cut by Vipco
EATEN ALIVE - Same as previous VHS release
THE MUTILATOR - Most previous cuts waived except for 7 seconds in which a girl has hook shoved between her legs
THE TOOLBOX MURDERS - 1m 46secs removed by BBFC in addition to pre-cuts made by Vipco

2001
CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST - 5mins 44secs removed by BBFC
THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY - Most previous cuts waived aside from 33 seconds due to successful prosecution of Uncut verison a few years previously.
MOUNTAIN OF THE CANNIBAL GOD - 2mins 6secs removed by BBFC
PRANKS (aka The Dorm That Dripped Blood) - Print submitted was missing 10 seconds from the 'drill' murder

2002
THE BIG RACKET - 14 seconds removed by BBFC
CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST 2 (aka The Green Inferno) 11 seconds removed by BBFC
CANNIBAL FEROX 2 (aka Massacre in Dinosaur Valley) - 1min 54secs removed by BBFC. Also missing brief sex scene but this is not due to the BBFC.

2003
BRONX WARRIORS 2 (aka Escape From the Bronx) - Previous BBFC cuts waived but print missing 15 seconds of footage (released uncut in 2009)

Oh they released all the right titles-they're catalogue was second to none!

They were at the mercy of the bbfc and didn't bother their arse remastering the films!

I still owned evry one of them though, firstly on sell thru vhs and then DVD.

Just shows how much of a marketing tool good artwork is!

Also, their puns and taglines were classic!

To me VIPCO was a swear word. I remember there were about 3 different cuts of Zombie Flesh Eaters all touted as UNCUT but every single one was a shambles. The only time I bought something on their label after being burned so many times, was if it was on their European releases, like I Spit on Your Grave. For years VIPCO became a byword for something to avoid.
Even today I cannot get rid of the negativity that still fosters in my soul for the rip off merchants that they were and hope that one day karma catches up with them.
