The Quatermass Xperiment was remastered a few years ago by Deluxe Digital for an HD release. That is just sitting there - ready to go basically.

I'm looking forward to seeing Hammer's classics make their way to Blu-ray.Hopefully we'll see films like, Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell and The Satanic Rites of Dracula given the restoration treatment they deserve as well as bona fide classics like Terence Fisher's Dracula (which I can't wait to see, fully restored). It's nice to see they're being released as BD/DVD combo packs too.

Good news indeed, though I'm also hoping the rarely screened Hammer anthology series JOURNEY TO THE UNKNOWN (1968) will get a dvd release in the near future.

I really hope The Woman in Black is a huge success. I really want to love it and i'm sure i will, as the source novel is probably my favourite ghost story. However even if i hate the film, i still want it to do well for Hammer. Wouldn't want the restoration work to stop due to poor box office and the company go bust again. |

I must admit I was slightly disappointed to see this getting a 12A certificate. Maybe the producers held back a little, knowing that the Daniel Radcliffe factor may bring in more of the teen crowd, but I can't really see it being a real scare fest. I hope I'm wrong though! I do hope it is a big success for the company. |

The story isn't a scare fest its a subtle ghost story, there should be no major cgi effects, or blood. A good reference point is the classic black and white film The Haunting, which is far scarier than its fx filled remake. I suppose the carriage sequences could be an exciting thrill ride though. And incidentally a PG rated DVD.
