Hopefully this sells well enough to help those restorations along the way.

I shall be getting it for sure.

Sadly, the lack of certificate on any of the pictures leads me to suspect this is not a UK release

'Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter' (1974) - 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition 4K UHD coming soon from Hammer Films

"Legendary creator Brian Clemens writes and directs this stylish, revisionist Hammer Horror - pitting a swashbuckling hero, his hunchbacked assistant and a feisty gypsy ingenue against a cunning and malevolent vampire. Starring Horst Janson as Kronos and Hammer Glamour icon Caroline Munro as Carla, cult classic Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter makes its worldwide debut as a brand-new 4K restoration from the original negative film elements.

A rash of mysterious deaths due to accelerated ageing compels Dr Marcus to summon his brother-in-arms, Captain Kronos - once a soldier but now a professional vampire hunter. As the deaths continue, however, Kronos realises that this is no ordinary vampire he's hunting."

Limited Collector's Edition comprises:

This is so exciting. I just called my wife to my office to show her the pics and told her "There will be an expense at some point in the near future." "How much?" she asked. "Does it matter? And if the kid doesn't eat for a couple of days, well, they'll thank us at the ballet school anyway." I replied.

I would have preferred separate 4K/Blu-ray editions, because I have no use for 4K and don't much like paying for it unnecessarily.

Maybe this also means they will at some point release some of the others, especially the less "famous" ones.

Looks a really nice set, even though it?s not one of my favourite Hammers.
Interesting to see what other titles they would release - my vote would be VAMPIRE CIRCUS.

It doesn't seem to be listing source material for the transfer? OCN, interpositive, print?

I didn't get any of the previous releases of this so I don't know how they held up picture-wise?

Isn't that owned by ITV who are notorious for not licensing anything.

For me i'd be clamouring for X The Unknown, Quatermass II and The Abominable Snowman

Looks nice...

Don't fancy shelling out for 4K discs I have no use for though. See what the price is nearer the time.
