Yeah. Uncut though.

The same kind of dubious print shows up on 'The Unexplained' channel in the UK under the "Count Dracula and his Vampire Brides" title.

Yes the overseas prints restore the video cut but the old cinema cuts appear to be gone forever. Be nice to see a UK DVD release of this though. No idea what the holdup is.

Received a reply from Eureka regarding future Hammer releases.
"Dear Mark
We are not planning at the moment for releasing any more Hammer films.
Best Wishes
Ron Benson
Eureka Entertainment Ltd."
Shame that, but nice of Ron to reply so quickly.

Satanic Rites is a terrific movie & it was also the first Christopher Lee Dracula movie I ever saw.It is far superior to the awful Dracula A.D 1972 & I'm amazed it's so underrated.

Must admit Satanic Rites took a while to grow on me but grow it did. I think the opening scenes showing the vampiric image over London is brilliant stuff, together with John Cacavas's excellent theme.

Never rated Dracula AD 1972 one bit.

Not really the right place I know, but speaking of Eureka, I've heard that they will be releasing a definitive Blu of Lang's Metropolis this year!

(Kino are releasing it in the US too).

Played by Christopher Neame, who later popped up for about 20 secs in Licence To Kill before the roof fell on him.

Yes, I wonder what the hold-up is as well. Aren't the rights still held by Hammer themselves? They're certainly indicated as being the copyright-holders on the cover of AB's old release. I think Bill Lustig still holds the license to the former AB Hammer's in the US but he always said that Blue Underground wouldn't be revisiting them. Shame really, BU could do wonders with Satanic Rites. Probably because it's such a heavily bootlegged title (and shouldn't be, it's legitimately licensed and copyrighted) which has probably saturated the US market for this title. But if BU decided to put out their Hammer properties on Blu....now we're talking!!

I'd like to see Hammer's Shatter given a UK home release. Absolutely daft as a brush but still fun. The German DVD is pretty good and features the uncut print.
