I like a lot of Craven's films but yeah, he's quite inconsistent. I think he's one of the better US horror filmmakers to emerge in the 70s and have a lot of love for Elm Steet, The Hills Have Eyes, Last House, Scream and People Under the Stairs. Happy to hear Arrow will release the latter on Blu-ray, one to get for sure.

Unfortunately in the present day the ironies and unsubtle mocking of the slasher genre throughout the rest of the film leaves me cold. It seems to have dated really badly. |

![]() Indeed. In fact I think I prefer the sequel. The third took the meta bollocks way too far, and I'd lost interest long before the fourth finally wheezed out of the blocks . . .

I agree with Dem re: Scream. Aside from the opening scene, I can pretty much take or leave it. I do think the fourth film is a slight return to form over the previous two dire sequels, though.

Should be 3 or 4 titles, so i'd expect at least one or more of the tiltes we know about, to be announced for October.

I've forgotten what titles we'd discussed! Body Snatchers possibly and what else? It's Halloween month so there has to be some horror surely...

![]() I don't know if these have been already announced, but it could be The Fall of the House of Usher, Sisters, Invasion of the Body Snatchers etc. All those titles which are on the second run of postcards and which haven't yet been released/announced.
