ARROW ACADEMY

From the Arrow FB page

"Good news! We've teamed up with the good folks at Fopp for another Arrow Academy sale!

All offers end February 25th so make sure to head on down to your local store and grab some treats."

Seems like they have only just had an Arrow Academy promotion!

Looking at that lot ^ up there, I don't think I've seen one of those!! So as a couple or three blind buys for an Arrow Academy Virgin, what would you suggest out of that lot.....and why?

Myself, I'm drawn towards The Tin Drum and Night of the Hunter. Any good? I know their concepts.
EDIT: Hard to be a God. I saw it. I still own it. I wish neither had happened....

The Ox-Bow Incident is a terrific western, Boo. It has a lot to say on the subject of hanging, mob mentality and frontier justice. It's a noir western through and through.

Rififi is a classic noir thriller. Highly recommended.

I'd add 'Cinema Paradiso' to that list

It's everything I hate about film - overlong, schmaltzy, Oscar winner, but...it's a truly gorgeous movie about the love people have for the cinema. I rarely use the word 'masterpiece', but I will do here

Night is pure class, Sweet Smell of Success & Cinema Paradisdo would be my other two, But Hired Hand runs a close second.

Spirits of The Dead is worth it, if only for Fellini's Tony Dammit segment; a mini-masterpiece.

Seconded.

Not sure if all of these will be in the offer but my recommendations would be:

Brute Force
Closely Observed Trains
The Firemen's Ball
The Killers
Naked City
The Night of the Hunter
Rififi
The Tin Drum
