To be fair as far as modern Nic Cage goes Pay the Ghost is a great little film.

They aren't the actual Arrow cult releases though. Arrow do release a lot of other films without fanfare.

I agree with JHarker, Pay the Ghost is terrific.

Would this be a case of 'tough times for distributing cult cinema' on physical media?

I don't think so. Sony handle loads of companies from Arrow through to Network. It will be a good deal for Shameless as Sony do get their product into supermarkets. Asda have several Arrow titles, and Sainsbury's have loads of Network tv series on sale all year round.

I'm not suggesting Cannibal God will be on sale in a supermarket but the possibilities may be there if Shameless did away with their crappy covers and even crappier slogans. (Where whores meet saws - indeed )

That was something I was thinking with my comment – it's probably better to be part of an agreement with a major player on the home entertainment circuit than struggle on your own. Sony DADC will be able to give Argent much more exposure than they have at present, and probably be there for advice regarding packaging and format, so it could be a win-win arrangement.
