Enjoyed the interview with Jonny, Paul.

I used to go to the film fairs at Sacha's Hotel in Manchester myself. Loved them, half the films i bought i knew next to nothing about, but that was the beauty of it sometimes. Then it was down to the lower level bar to peruse and show off our wares.

One or two of the dealers had their places at a multi-floored market hall opposite Afflecks Palace, forgot what it was called, i used to spend stupid amounts in there.

It was the same at the film fairs in London and surrounding areas - that was part of the charm, not knowing what it was that you were going to pick up. The decent fairs were a couple of months between, so you'd have a bit of time to save some money and have a nice little splurge when you go there.

My mate and I soon realised the best thing to do was have a stall - meant you could get rid of what you didn't want, make some cash and best of all, get in a couple of hours before the fair was open to the public when all the best stuff was had

Great idea.

My mates and i must have been too dim to think of that one at the time.

It's a shame that they're a thing of the past now. I know that there are some that are still going but from what I've heard they're nothing like what they used to be and there's all manner of tat and dodgy copies being offered about in a blatant fashion.

Never went to a film fair there, but me and a mate used to go to record fairs there quite a lot. Got quite of few of my rare Iron Maiden vinyl's from them
