I never saw the original series on tv (Doctor Who - Pyramids of Mars onwards, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Battlestar Galactica and Sunday lunchtime showings of Space 1999 on ITV for me).

I have since bought the remastered dvd's of the adventures of Shatner, Nimoy and crew.

I stuck with the original episodes, Got the Buck Rogers S1&S2 R1 boxset and both Origianl Galactica and its (frankly crap) sequel series, Galactica 1980. As for 1999 use to watch that too still havent bought the boxset yet although with Networks recent anouncement that S2 is out next year I might put that higher in my 'To Get' list

Galactica 1980 was disappointing to say the least. Nowhere near as bad as the second series of Buck Rogers though. They really should have stuck to the formula.

Best thing about S2 was Hawks ship and its talons extending to grab other ships. Worse thing was not having Princess Ardala in it as a permanent fixture, it might have made the season a lot easier to bear, (wasn't a fan of Wilma)

Agreed. It would have been a much better series with Pamela Hensley. How the memory lies. I thought she was in all the first series. Talk about crushing disappointment when i bought the dvd.

Thank god for upscaling DVD players and the pause function! VHS tape tends to streach and break if you pause to many times
