Have to say i enjoyed The Pilot. Glad the show is back, warming to the new companion, i thought Bill would be a bit annoying but thankfully not. I think Nardole may well prove to be an interesting choice of companion and a good foil for the Doctor from this episode. Capaldi was as excellent as ever. I also really liked the music and thought it a really well filmed episode.

The central water monster was a bit flimsy but the episode had echoes of The Waters of Mars, and it was nice that the photos of Susan and River were showed more than once. Daleks definitely there for contractual reasons only.

Not as grating as I had feared. And Simm's grin was pure Riddler imo
I coughed so must have missed Cybermen ....

I'll reserve judgement until we're a good three episodes in. The first episode "The Pilot" was ok!. Though I did have a hell of a time trying to understand what Pearl Mackee was saying in certain scenes, and the episode did sort of feel like something Russell T. Davies would write as an opener, but overall I would rate this episode 6/10.

Roll on next Saturday
