Yep, after Series 11, I'll gladly take that. It was on for a 7/10 but the ending shot it up to an 8. Dare I say... I'm actually looking forward to Doctor Who again? I haven't had that feeling since 2017. |

Popular music in 'Doctor Who' #2 Episode: 'The Chase - Part 1: The Executioners' (1965) Artist: The Beatles Title: 'Ticket To Ride' Notes: * The song originally appeared on the 1965 album 'Help' * The Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Vicki watch the band performing on the TARDIS Time-Space Visualiser * The footage of the band using in the programme was filmed at Riverside Studios, for inclusion in the 'Top Of The Pops' television show which was originally broadcast on Saturday, 10th April, 1965 * The original intention was to feature the band appearing as themselves, but under heavy 'ageing' make-up, to represent themselves in 1996, playing at the Festival of Ghana. Although the four members of the group approved the idea, in manager Brian Epstein objected to them appearing on the programme * Because of the BBC's practice of wiping shows that were not considered 'important', it is ironic that 'The Executioners' is now the only remaining source of any surviving Beatles footage from 'Top of the Pops' * Due to the fact that the music is covered by an agreement for use in the UK, the sequence with The Beatles is only included on the Region 2 release of 'The Chase'. The performance as featured on 'Doctor Who' The full song

tbh i thought it was still a bit pants. admittedly better than anything in the previous season. there are enjoyable moments but there's still a tonal element that's all wrong, that tilts the attempts at humour (and some of the action scenes e.g. car/bike chase) into cheesiness. this for me is a Chibnall problem - his attempts at quirkiness just come off as someone trying too hard to be quirky. And JW's line delivery is still irritating. on the plus side there were some good set pieces e.g. the laser in the car, the outback siege and the finale. |

Lol, people moan at me when I say pants they think its something I make up and i keep telling them its a word people use, but they won't have it . I agree and I know it sounds daft but clips where they are all running to jump on back of plane things like that irritate me for some reason . |
