It's worth it for the standalone Vervoids.
It also looks like the animated Galaxy 4 may be out sooner than expected - November according to some listing sites. I wasn't expecting another so soon after Evil. The same site is also listing a December release for a season 17 blu ray set.

I was just going to post about Galaxy 4 but you edited me to it.

I think i'll wait until that one drops in price.

As for season 17 - Yay Shada... again. There's a good three part story desperate to claw it's way out from six episodes of dullness.

The Return of Doctor Mysterio. Mediocre. To be fair, it's not as shrilly awful as Husbands of River Song, but it's still disappointing after the surprisingly good Last Christmas, which managed to be a decent Who story even with the trappings of Christmas frippery. This isn't even very Christmassy. There are some amusing moments and I did laugh out loud at the bit with the reporter torturing the squeaky toy head to get info out of Capaldi, which was so absurd it was genuinely funny (for some reason I can totally imagine that scene in Coupling). On the whole though this was pretty meh.

I have mixed feeling about Strax

Although he was a fun character, and used for some good comic relief, I don't think that the Sontarans should be 'cuddly' - they are ruthless warmongers who should be feared

I can't imagine Robert Holmes being impressed with what his creation has been turned into!

I agree. I do like Strax as a character, he brightens up the screen for me. Moffat should have brought the Sontarans back for a story showing them to be the 'ruthless warmongers' that they are.

Hopefully their appearance in the new season will address this. Although with Chibnall who knows.
