The Halloween Apocalypse achieved 5.79m viewers and was the 9th most watched program on British television last week.

But we all know fiddled figures don't count.

3.96 million overnights for this weeks, apparently. Can Chibbers get it under 3 in six weeks? If anyone can do it, he can!

Either way the figures are pretty bismal, gone are the days of viewing figures for tv shows of 12 million plus when the shows on, but that doesn’t help when ppl can record, catch up etc etc so don’t feel the need to watch it at the exact time it’s on.

They aren't fiddled figures. They are the exact same figures used by every British tv show. From Eastenders to the Ten O' Clock news.

Plenty of tv shows still get excellent viewing figures. The recent series on BBC1 Vigil did over ten million viewers an episode and Strictly is still getting massive viewing figures as your image breakdown from last week showed.

It's not that long since Jodie Whitaker's first episodes brought in 10.9 and 9m viewers respectively so the viewers are there if there's something they want to watch.

Doctor Who is pretty low in comparison nowadays but it's current official figure is still okay. It's not brilliant, not abysmal, but okay.

The measure of a show isn't necessarily built on viewing figures, but how effective that show is in developing memorable storylines. In Imposter Who's case it's a vessel without a crew with no real sense of purpose, other than promoting what Auntie beeb wants. The UK ratings system has always been like the State posting the monthly jobless figures. Sounds good on paper, but statistics have always been easy to inflate to justify a supposed success story. What was the old saying...
"Lies, damned lies, and statistics" spring to mind.
