Although this particular story was mainly filmed in the studio, it was the first 'Doctor Who' story to feature some 'on-location' filming

These scenes were filmed at Misbourne Road (the Isle of Wight Farm in Gerrards Cross) and Tilehouse Lane (the grounds of White Plains, a nursing home in Denham) on June 15th, 1964.

However, because the regular cast were in rehearsals for 'The Sensorites', William Hartnell was doubled in these shots by Brian Proudfoot (who had attended the recording of episode three of 'The Sensorites' in order to study Hartnell's mannerisms and style of walking)

Hartnell himself would have to wait until 'The Dalek Invasion Of Earth' before he got to any outside filming

My favourite piece of incidental music from Classic Who

It's a shame they haven't updated it for nu-Who

Oh - it's been 'blocked on other media' by YouTube. The piece in question is 'Space Adventure (Parts 1-3)', Composed by M. Slavin, which was used as the theme for the Cybermen and also during the Yeti attack in 'The Web Of Fear'
