The universal artwork for Scream of the Shalka. A six part webcast to celebrate Doctor Who's fortieth anniversary in 2003.

It starred Richard E Grant as the Doctor, Sophie Okonedo as companion Alison and Derek Jacobi as the Master and was written by Paul Cornell.

The image used is for the 2013 audio book cd release but it was also novelised by Cornell in 2004 and released on dvd in 2013.

"Whilst talking to Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2, Russell was asked if she had ever been in Doctor Who, to which Davies replied to: "She?s been offered and madam was too busy, but not this time?.

He went on to add how she was offered a role previously but Russell privately asked her to decline it because ?there?s a better part coming?."

Personally, I'd rather they concentrated on getting the script and stories correct instead on getting Hollywood-types to appear in the show!
