I really don't see how changing a 50 year look of a disabled bad guy and replacing that with a psychically abled person is being supportive of the representation of the disabled. There are way way more characters who can't walk that are good guys then bad guys. Think you ask the young generation to name a wheelchair character and they'll say professor X. Despite people referring this to disney who I don't think disney have had that much input, I thought this was all decided between BBC and rtd. It's not like it's that different from the whittaker era. Also why do things have to have drastic changes for each new generation? Nintendo is currently the number 1 in gaming companies and their main super Mario games are very much the same style and look for almost 30 years now. |
