DWM issue 606 - Release date August 2024

OK - I know that Sutekh is the Man-God pictured at the bottom right of the picture, but I still do not know what the blinking flip that monstrosity in the middle is !

It's Disney Sutekh.

He's been wrapped around the TARDIS since the end of Pyramids of Mars apparently.

Seriously RT-D's writing in that final episode was shockingly bad. Idris forgot to mention it to 11, he seems to have survived the TARDIS blowing up in The Big Bang, God knows what happened when the TARDIS split in two at the end of The Giggle etc, etc etc.

Incidentally the subscribers version of the cover is fantastic but as much as i love it it really should have featured William Russell.

I didn?t see the episode, but it was revealed that Sutekh was wrapped around the TARDIS all this time?? Did nobody notice?
What next - maybe it?ll be discovered that the Axons have been hiding in a cupboard under the stairs.

Apparently proper DW hasn't had a proper cover for like 18 months now. It's all about the modern crapola now.

Hardly surprising when they are working on new episodes and promoting them and have been since last summer.

I'd expect one or two between now and November perhaps.

The problem is after over 600 issues with a magazine going since the late 70's and covering so much in minute detail in those forty odd years what is there that they can publish that's new and justify a classic cover when Doctor Who 2023- is in production.

Like it or not i can't really blame them.

Here's a cover gallery from recent years if anyone's interested.

Must admit i'd be intrigued to know it's circulation levels now. The last published ones were four years ago and around the 16k mark. Has this new look show alienated older readers? Has it added new ones?

I know that had i not had a subscription i wouldn't be buying it anymore at the ridiculous price of 7.99

There was an article on deadline the other day that suggests what we all are thinking, that it's not been very popular at the moment.

It is obvious that Nu-Who is being promoted - after all, that is the current incarnation (pardon the pun), and the inclusion of it in DWM keeps people up-to-date with the current episodes and happenings

It doesn't make any sense to live in the past, and for a magazine to promote something that happened 35 years ago
