Hi everyone, Fancy delving into the depths of Satanism and witchcraft by winning Rob Zombie's latest movie, The Lords Of Salem? Well here's all those details! The Lords Of Salem ![]() “A psychological horror treat that burrows into the brain and tickles with ideas. This is satanic horror done right, carefully twisting the knife until the big finale without sacrificing scares along the way.†- Fangoria Opens in UK cinemas Friday 19th April 2013 From the producers of “Paranormal Activity†and “Insidious†comes writer-director Rob Zombie’s most highly anticipated shocker to date – a brilliantly envisioned and haunting tale of witchcraft and Satanism. Key talent: Writer-director Rob Zombie (The Devil’s Rejects; House Of 1000 Corpses; Halloween), stars Sheri Moon Zombie (The Devil’s Rejects; House Of 1000 Corpses; The Toolbox Murders; Halloween), Bruce Davison (X-Men), Ken Foree (The Devil’s Rejects; Dawn Of The Dead), Dee Wallace (The Howling; Critters; E.T.), Patricia Quinn (The Rocky Horror Picture Show), Maria Conchita Alonso (Predator 2; The Running Man), Judy Geeson (Inseminoid; Fear In The Night; Doomwatch), Meg Foster (They Live; Masters Of The Universe), Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes), Sid Haig (The Devil’s Rejects) and Lisa Marie (Ed Wood; Sleepy Hollow; Mars Attacks), guitarist and composer John 5 and “Paranormal Activity†and “Insidious†producers, Jason Blum, Oren Peli and Steven Schneider. Synopsis: A former drug user, Heidi is now clean and works as a rock DJ at the local radio station along with fellow DJs, Herman Whitey Salvador and Herman Jackson. Following one of their regular evening shows, Heidi receives a square wooden box containing a vinyl record, the only indication as to its origin is a note proclaiming “A gift from the Lordsâ€. Assuming it is merely a PR stunt by an ambitious band, Heidi gives the record a spin and immediately begins to experience bizarre flashbacks to a past, long-forgotten trauma triggered by the haunting sounds contained on the record. You'll Love It Because... A huge departure from his previous movies, “The Lords Of Salem†is without a doubt Rob Zombie’s most ambitious and accomplished work to date and firmly establishes him as a unique and truly gifted filmmaker who has finally come into his own. A chilling, atmospheric piece that slowly works its way under the viewer’s skin, the film has an almost European feel to it and owes more to Roman Polanski, Dario Argento and Ken Russell than to the American “grindhouse†cinema one would most associate with Zombie. Of course, this being Rob Zombie, classic horror movie references abound and fans will be delighted to notice nods to the likes of “Rosemary’s Babyâ€, “The Shiningâ€, “The Sentinelâ€, “The Devil Rides Outâ€, John Carpenter’s “Prince Of Darkness†and “Macbeth†(the Polanski adaptation), amongst others. A killer cast comprised of many genre legends, stunning cinematography by Brandon Trost, an awesome score by guitarist John 5 and songs by The Velvet Underground, Rush, Rob Zombie, Rick James and Manfred Mann’s Earth Band all combine to make this one of the most visually and aurally impressive horror movies in recent years. Hot Quotes: “Zombie's most ambitious film to date… gorgeously photographed by Brandon Trost.†– Arrow In The Head/JoBlo.com. “It’s bold and experimental (not to mention gross) but damn if it’s not unlike anything I’ve seen in a horror film for years. I was utterly absorbed by Zombie's nightmarish psychedelia.†– Arrow In The Head/JoBlo.com. “It’s safe to say this will be Zombie’s most-talked about horror film to date.†– Dread Central. “A brazenly bizarre work of art. It exerts a riveting fascination in its imagery, and it’s the film’s blaring score (composed by John 5) that cues the attentive audience to squirm in their seats by the haunting atmosphere.†– Dread Central. “Rob Zombie’s newest vision of horror represents a major step forward for the filmmaker. ‘Salem’ is a gaudy dance between the macabre and the art-house. is also the director’s best film to date, showcasing his versatility as a filmmaker.†– Sound On Sight. “A work of phantasmagorical cinema.†– Sound On Sight. “A textbook study on how to do horror right.†– Sound On Sight. “A fiercely imagined nightmare.†– Sound On Sight. “A surrealist nightmare in the vision of Alejandro Jodorowsky, Roman Polanski and, most significantly, Ken Russell.†– ZombieHamster.com. A sinister and bleak nightmare, this may well be Rob Zombie’s darkest work yet… a brave, experimental and deeply worthwhile movie.†– ZombieHamster.com. “A terrifying, brilliant feature which creates full immersion into a nightmarish world of religious iconography and death.†– ZombieHamster.com. “With the effectively creepy ‘The Lords of Salem,’ Zombie reaffirms his capacity to tap into the genre’s strongest qualities.†– IndieWire.com. “Genuinely creepy imagery, cool scares, super crazy sound design, and even more mind blowing set designs.†– Bloody-Disgusting.com. ----------- To win...
