Funny you should mention that one as it's one I'd like to put out. If I hadn't stumbled upon the old Guild rental tape (which I still have) I'd have struggled to find it when it came out in the 90s. Of course the difference between what you'd like and what you can have is another matter. We're fighting huge price hikes at the moment. Some maniac is overpaying out there and shoving the market up. Years ago sales could have warranted the prices but now even the US market is shrinking for crazy horror.

I think we've all played a part in the price hikes! The Sect was released in Italy and due to imports being successful I think companies know that whoever gets the rights will see more business than they might expect; hence driving up the price! So when a company like Cecchi Gori comes about, with a fat-wad o' cash, they think that other companies have that much to spend also! Damn you, swings and round-a-bouts! |

| The Sect is long overdue for a decent UK DVD/BD release. The Italian disc is serviceable, but it's not really that great. This could and should be done better. I notice that Almar's post is from 3 years ago - have things changed now or is there still some maniac overpaying out there and driving prices up? I'd imagine the overpayer would be bankrupt by now!

Had the Italian DVD and it's Soavi's weakest film imo.
