 Childhood Books - Your Favs?
With the upcoming action thriller, Boy Nobody coming out shortly (think Jason Borne as a teen!), it's time to get nostalgic! So, what were your all time favourite books as a kid/teen? Perhaps your love for horror came from a few books you read when you were younger?  Boy Nobody is the perfect thriller for any young adult readers out there, as well as book loving adults looking for an enthralling and gripping read! It's fantastic - highly recommended reading!

The Tripods and Winnie the Pooh were my pre-teen faves in the 60s, then as a teen Hound of the Baskervilles and Dracula, horror roots indeed(apart from Pooh of course)

'Stig of the Dump', by Clive King My favourite chapter was 'The Snargets' I remember crying bitterly when I was reading it in bed, and I sneezed, making the page wet, and thinking that my favourite book was ruined! I also loved the Target novelisations of the 'Doctor Who' stories bizarre_eye@Cult Labs and Hawkmonger like this.

I loved Stig of the Dump!! I also used to read the Target Doctor Who books, too. I think I had nearly all of them... they currently reside in my attic. |

Say what you will about the adaptation, but this book series hold some of my fondest childhood memories. Only as you get older do you take notice of some of the genuinely creepy idea's the villain had, as a child I never picked up on all the arranged marriage plot lines.  That aside, or even included, it's a damn creepy, mesmerising and a bit funny series. I really need to crack out my hardbacks and give them a re-read.

Like others here, the reading of my childhood was made up of the Doctor Who Target novels.

I also loved these - Fighting Fantasy Adventure gamebooks. Oddly enough this was as far as orcs, trolls and shit went as i've never played a role playing game in my life. Or at least not one that doesn't involve a girl. |
